This week on the brew review we’ve got RJ Rockers Spartanburg Stout. Not a bad offering, but it’s a little on the weak side for a stout. All the flavors are there, nice toasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee notes, but overall, this beer doesn’t live up to that “meal in a glass” reputation that stouts are known for. Still, it’s not bad, just not great. Check out the video for the full review.

    Theme from ‘Miami Vice?’

  2. We had this last night at the Spartanburg Pub Crawl, and I’m inclined to agree with Chris and Mike. It’s not a bad beer, but slightly weak in terms of taste.

Hey what do you two guys think about a quarterly ‘review of reviews,’ where you list all the beers reviewed so far, ranked by the average of the grades you give. Since you’re assigining letter grades, it should be easy to convert them to a ‘BPA,’ or Beer Point Average. Or maybe have a page on the site giving the same info, updated weekly with each new review. It would be cool to see all the rankings in one place.

    • That’s a really great idea. We were planning on doing an overview video of RJ’s stuff once we finished going through them all, which would only be a few more weeks. Maybe that’d be a good opportunity to go over our grades for each one. Thanks Ezekiel!
