This week we take on RJ Rockers Rock Hopper IPA. This new style from RJ Rockers is only available at the Taproom downtown, but it’s very much worth the trip. There’s a super hop flavor on this one, great for all those hopheads out there, grapefruit notes, soapy hop oil, and just the right amount of bready malt to balance things out. This is easily our favorite RJ Rockers beer we’ve reviewed so far.

Another high gravity beer.
Cloudy as a bad urine sample but ….
I liked it a lot.
Too bad it was served warm (not cold ) and the “server” was more interested in describing how wonderful it was than handing it over. Why do servers always claim ownership in unique venues?
Thanks for the history of a spoiled beer Chris, I’ll never look at an IPA in the same light again.
If youse guys finished that growler I would bet you got into something else much sooner than later.
Your review was on the table. Literally.
“Cloudy as a bad urine sample”
Actually, I’ve had a lot of IPA’s like that, not a look that appeals to everybody. I’m thinking the beer may be unfiltered, though I’m not sure. Personally, I like a good unfiltered beer. A lot of times it adds a nice little yeasty thing to the mouthfeel, but again, opinions vary.
Glad you liked it too. As far as finishing off that growler, I’ll just say it’s always a fun night when we get together for a brew review.
