HigginsBand It’s Thursday again! And that means it’s time for use to harass all of you fine readers into giving up a shed of your privacy so that we can collectively discuss our plans for the coming weekend. Individually, we may only have one or two good suggestions for how to spend the next few days, but by pooling our knowledge, we can come up with some great ideas.

After all, one of you may know of a great local event that’s happening, but which hasn’t quite gotten the P.R. push it deserves. And since the Spark‘s calendar system is still temporarily down (see below), we need your suggestions now more than ever.

Of course, it would be totally and completely unfair for me to ask any one of you to start the process off, so I’ll go first.

Thursday: Hanging out with Bob at Bob’s Pretty Good Bookstore, which is rapidly becoming Bob’s Completely Online Bookstore, since that’s where he’s getting most of his business these days. After that, there’s a slim chance I’ll go out, but odds are I’ll watch a movie or something with the wife.

Friday: Lots of work. Freelance work, Spark work, and likely some housework as well. Friday evening, however, I’m planning on braving the crowds to check out the new RJ Rockers’ Tap Room, potentially followed by the Marc Higgins Band and Skye Foundation show at the Hub-Bub.

Saturday: I’m hoping to use at least some of Saturday to reinstall a new calendar system for the Spark, since the old one wasn’t working properly. We’ve long had problems finding just the right program to do what we need, and so I’ll be looking at the available options. No other plans, but I’m hoping something cool happens that evening.

Sunday: Freelance work and stuff. I think there’s a tentative plan to clean the whole house and generally tidy things up. No other plans — maybe the Sunday Songwriters’ Showcase at Sonny’ Brick Oven Pizza — so I’m definitely open to hearing a few suggestions.

See? That wasn’t so hard to do! And my weekend plans aren’t exactly show-stoppers, and I’m sure most of you have plans that will blow mine right out of the water.

So let’s hear them!

Tonight, I’ll be at Renato’s for a work event.

Friday night, I’ll be cleaning and organizing until the hubby gets home, then we’re going to go see his band play in Greenville. Who knows what after that.

Saturday, I am going to Asheville with a friend to help her start planning her wedding. Before and after that, I hope to be writing and trying to learn how to use this darn new camera I got (Nikon D80. Help? Anyone??)

Sunday, no plans other than church yet, although I have a couple of things in mind. At some point, I hope to be at B&N to see some members of our Spartanbug NaNoWriMo group.

PS: Sunday, I’ll actually be working on my talk20 slides…I forgot they are due Sunday. talk20 is on November 21st! Everyone should come out!

  4. Nothing special planned till Sunday afternoon where I will be attending the birthday party of a certain someone who is crazy about princesses and sleeps with all her stuffed animals right up close.

  5. Going to see Mark Higgins Band on Friday, and either Friday or Saturday we’re going to make our way to the Taproom. Other than that, we don’t have any firm plans.

Looking forward to seeing Skye Foundation Friday, and hoping to test out a new Puerto Rican restaurant my friend Erica suggested maybe on Saturday? And definitely the RJ Rockers will be squeezed in there. Are they open on Sunday?

    Saturday day me time.

Saturday night hanging at home – my teenager wants to have his gf over so I need to stay close by.

Sunday – not sure – maybe yard work, maybe not!

It’s Friday, and I really want to see the Van Dangs at Delaneys tonight. However, I was made to leave work early today for my cold, so I’m currently treating it with Ouzo and probably will be staying cuddled up under the covers for the rest of the day.

Unfortunately, I have to be at work at 6am on both Saturday and Sunday, so I won’t be up to much. But someone should go out and drink some RJ Rockers for me. ;)

I’m headed to the first ever The Taproom at RJ Rockers trivia night.
