Here’s a quick clip of info from the Spartanburg Herald-Journal‘s preview of today’s City Council meeting

Spartanburg City Council will consider authorizing a development agreement with the company redeveloping the former Abby’s Grill on Main Street.

Approval would authorize the city manager to negotiate and sign the development agreement to provide the property owner, the Cavert McCorkle revocable trust, a development grant for 10 percent of the renovation expenditures, not to exceed $10,000.

The tenant business, Cornbread to Caviar LLC, would receive a maximum of $20,000.

The number of jobs the new business will create has not been finalized. Today’s vote will be the first reading.

Council will also hear a request from SAFE Homes Rape Crisis Coalition that the city forgive its mortgage and get an update on some Parks & Rec projects. The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. today at City Hall.

  1. I’m about to walk over to the City Hall right now. Should have something posted on this tomorrow.
