From nearly the start of this project, we’ve been talking about the third major element of the Spark — the community directory — and how spiffy it’ll be for everyone when we finally get around to putting it together.
Earlier this week, we finally had time to start working on it in earnest, and you can see the very early — almost primitive — version of the Community Directory here. There are only three categories at present — Arts, Bands and Community — and each contain only about five-to-ten percent of the information they’ll eventually hold. Over the next week or so, however, we expect them to become far more useful and interesting as we have time to add in additional content, categories and resources.
It’s worth noting the exceptional level of content already available on the Spartanburg County Public Library’s community directory, which was of great help to me as we started to build the Spark‘s directory.
Eventually, we’ll add a submission form for readers to suggest groups, resources, bands, venues and other directory-worthy stuff we might have overlooked. Until then, feel free to e-mail suggestions to publisher@spartanburgspark.com.
