Over at JW Grayson’s Thoughts, John McCain’s new running mate is being considered. From the post McCain’s Choice For VP:
Well, Senator McCain is really desperate for the female vote. McCain, who turned 72 today, announced his choice for a vice-presidential running mate. He went against conventional wisdom and chose a female. That’s right! McCain wants to try to sway the female voters towards his campaign. He chose Alaska’s Governor Sarah Palin. She’s only been a governor for about 2 years. McCain’s running mate stated about a month ago that she didn’t even know what the VP did.
While Grayson kept an eye on the Republicans, Seeding Spartanburg was glowing about the goings-on at the Democratic National Convention. From the post I Am Proud:
Tonight, as I watched the 2008 Democratic Party Convention come to an end…I am proud. I am proud to be a Democrat. I am proud to be part of the Party that embraces ALL Americans. I am proud to be a part of the political party that stands up for the people. Because THAT is who America is all about.
I’m tired of arguing about abortion and gay marriage and illegal immigration. And I won’t anymore. It’s time for politicos to stop manipulating people by telling them THOSE are the important issues that are destroying the American way of life. PLEASE PEOPLE. Wake up. You are being used as a political TOOL.
Getting away from politics for a moment, Dave’s Methodist Blog reported on his experience at a Prayer Breakfast where the speaker represented a Christian business. From the post Doing Business with Christ:
The purpose of this breakfast was to encourage pastors in their ministries and to invite us to more unity. The main speaker was President/Ceo of a company called Polydeck Screens. The interesting thing is that this company operates on Christian principles.
I know. At first, it sounded hokey to me, too.
And while everyone else was writing, Not So Spartan was posting YouTube videos from what appears to be a collection of student stop-motion projects. From the post The FYI-S.I. Oscars:
